1. 10 fins per inch evaporator and condensor coils. Other manufacturers use up to 16 fins per inch which causes them to quickly build up with dirt and corrosion causing the system to malfunction.
2. These coils are coated with corrosion resistant coating. Others use no coating allowing the coil fins and tubes to corrode, causing leaks and poor efficiency.
3. All Nordic Air models incorporate a slide out chassis which allows for easy service when required.
4. A reciprocating hermetic compressor is used on all models resulting in long life. Most manufacturers use rotary hermetics which do not hold up to the 24-7 schedules in demanding applications.
5. Nordic Air uses a totally enclosed blower/fan motor with a stainless steel shaft. Others use less expensive open motors which allow dirt and moisture into the motor windings which shorten the life of the unit.
6. All Nordic Air units are designed to operate with a dry condenser coil, unlike most units which incorporate a slinger ring on the condenser fan to throw water on the coil to assist in the cooling process. The water, when mixed with the dirt and other elements found in demanding application environments, soon harden and damage the coil.
7. A high and low pressure safety switch are standard on Nordic Air units. These switches save other costly components from damage.
8. Nordic Air units use a heavy duty 18 gauge Galvalume cabinet and chassis for long life.
9. These strong dependable units are available in five capacities: 12,000 - 18,000 - 24,000 - 30,000 and 36,000 BTU. All five sizes fit the same opening.
When it is not possible to cut a hole through the wall to mount a window type unit, the Nordic split series solves the problem. The 2KE1 evaporator is mounted on the wall or from the ceiling. It is connected to the 2KC condenser with small copper tubing which passes throught the wall.
The condenser is located in a convenient place outside the area to be cooled. All of the great features of the 2K window unit are incorporated in the 2K Split Series.
